giveaway snowman heart .... and my happy news

so .... this morning I went in my backyard and cut some branches . I love trees, tree limbs , twigs , branches ....... ah ....... they are beautiful.

I stuck them in a jar that I painted . I covered this glass jar with brown paper [ mod podge ] , and then I painted a weird lady on each side .

I made two new dolls . SOON to be in my Etsy shop , but email if you want one .

AND > on these tree branches I hung three of my handmade , hand painted snowman hearts .

soon to be in my shop .

MY HAPPY NEWS IS >

These snowmen are going to be in the Better Homes and Gardens 2011 Christmas magazine .

a long time away ..... but they want the snowmen hearts and the how to directions NOW

so I've been working on this

made a cat pillow ..... I used thinned acrylic paints , and my Inktense ... to get a watercolor look and ink

This cat .... I painted him on mdf board and then cut him out on my scroll saw ..... attached him on TOP of a frame , put wood backing on [ where the little buttons are ]

I love cutting characters from wood . It just makes it a little different , a little more unique

I'm thinking now [ wondering ] if maybe she fell , she has some favorite spots in the house that require quite a leap , maybe she missed and fell and got hurt ? but she is back to her old self now

Fat Boy Slim - Weapon of Choice

I finally painted my kitchen window [ a blue green ] , and then I made a valance using vintage handkerchiefs

My inspiration came from the Flickr photo below . Mine isn't quite as nice .and I just couldn't get a good photo .

but I'm still happy with it

The little lamb cup holds little baby dolls that I bought at Stratford Antique Center

I needed to take a break from Etsy ... I swear Etsy consumes my mind and time . I used to spend time fixing up my house , but now I get anxious .... thinking " oh , I should be working , I should be taking photos and listing on Etsy "

I need to get back into my house , I need to get back into reading and going outside [ especially now since it is cooler ]

OH >>> and I made a quilt ! My very first quilt . It's nothing really special , I just stitched 5 inch squares together , but it makes me happy . I didn't even take a photo of it , maybe I will soon ..... Juliette loves to sleep on it .

so >>>> now I need to paint the kitchen cabinets , but that will be a big job

Just wondering > Does Etsy consume you ? Do you look for hearts and sales ????

Are you always thinking you will come up with that ONE item that a thousand people will buy ?

Etsy is like gambling ..... Come on Etsy , Baby needs a new pair of shoes
