Cleaning update

Here's Jerry helping with the clean up

because husband Michael is so not into helping me clean up my mess .

Today [ Monday ] I will make my fourth trip to the dump !

I will not stop ! Actually I made June 1 st my date to stop cleaning .

A lot of my old frames got wrecked in the basement ....I still have a ton of good frames though .

Maybe tomorrow I'll take photos of the basement [ it's still such a mess !!! ]. I can't believe I let this happen .

It's okay , it's okay .... I will not hate myself for letting this happen .

Why haven't I lost any weight ?

up and down the stairs , my body aches and I'm still fat ! ha ha

This made me very happy because all I am doing now is cleaning the basement !!!! so .... her post made me feel like an artist again !

I'm still here

I'm still cleaning , I should have taken photos of all the junk and rotted broken down frames that were in my driveway .... I made two trips to the dump on Monday .... about ten more trips .... I'm thinking .

but it rained yesterday , and today was rainy too ... so I made a pillow today.

My basement still looks awful , WHEN did I bring all this junk home ?

annoyed

I'm a little annoyed , frustrated that I can't seem to get my house clean .

There's still piles everywhere and I'm really mad at myself

Homely and Lonely.... or how to wreck a really pretty plate

I used to do mosaic work .... so ... you know I have 150 plates in my basement .

You also know I am supposed to be cleaning and getting rid of all this stuff !

but as I was putting the plates in a box for Good Will .... I felt like painting on one .

That is the story of Homely and Lonely .

This was actually a lot of fun to do

I just primed the area I was painting , used acrylics and then put on 5 coats of polyurethane .

obviously it is a decorative plate , wall art or here it is on a little easel

I took a a break from making my wood cut outs . It has been quite a while since I used the sewing machine and it's like I FORGOT how to SEW !

oh ..... this took me a long time to make .

I love to go back and forth [ drawing , painting , sewing ] but it takes some thought and effort to get back into a medium that I haven't done in a while !

Gordon is done and he's pretty cute I think

I used to have two wonderful cats named > Peter and Gordon

another clue to how old I am ... ha ha

Isabella's house

I've wanted to make houses for such a long time !

Today I made one for Isabella .

I took a break from cleaning .

This is how I clean [ click to enlarge , except for the Jerry ones ]

Today > as I was cleaning the basement , under lots of junk I found this velveteen covered chair for "JERRY". So , of course I had to stop and clean it and give it to Jerry with a book for him and take a photo !

Back to cleaning >>> fill up a few more garbage bags [ of probably really good stuff ] .... THEN I find this little rubber cat head and I had to stop cleaning to look for the perfect old bottle to put the head on it, [ and take photos ] , THEN peel some carrots and get a chicken in the oven . This is when I found this 'adorable' photo on my kitchen counter . It's Baby Silas ..... so in the middle of carrots I had to take photos to introduce you to Silas ! Isn't he CUTE !

ah ..... what a day

P.S. yes ... I painted that little cupboard thing a long time ago , the flowers too .

and no I have not gotten around to painting my new window which is now 5 months old .

Is this how you clean ? Is this the artist's way to clean ? Please tell me you do this too ! I get distracted and inspired while I clean ..... ha ha . Michael has not noticed because there is still so much for me to do in here .

been busy

I've been busy .... cleaning ! In the basement .

I'm getting rid of so much , dried and silk flowers,

old Christmas craft stuff, old art work , bits of this and that [ things I was going to use for altered art ],

old furniture [ not going to paint furniture anymore ! ] and old books .....I am a collector ! and a hoarder . I'm a slob .

There's so many things I want to make , I'll never get to it all .

I had to remove that Barbie painting > I'm not supposed to post paintings that are not in that gallery YET ] .... so that's why if you're wondering why it's gone

and late last night .... a drawing . I think she has dishpan hands . I don't know what's going on with her hands ... ha ha !

vintage Tuesday rabbit

so ... way back in 1980 or there about , I found this rabbit doll at the 'Do Drop In' antique shop in Westport , Ct.

I think I paid $ 5.00

There's a tag on it that says .....

Schmid Bros.

Boston Mass.

I love him

He is posable.

And then [ way back then ] ....I drew him ...

on illustration board with graphite and colored pencil [ no Inktense then ]

I just love this rabbit .... isn't he great !

vintage Tuesday

I can't believe it's Tuesday again and I am trying to keep it vintage Tuesday !..... [ see Ronnie ! ... I can do it !!!!!! ]

I found this thread holder thing years ago ... bought it for a QUARTER .

but that's all I know about it [besides I love it ]

Sunday was beautiful so I took some of my heads outside ....

and read the story below about the angel head [ or cherub ]

Did you ever drive down a road and you see something white [ in the gutter ] and you think " OH NO .... a dead cat or dead rabbit ! "

and it turns out to be a plastic bag !

One day a few years ago this happened to me and after I passed the 'white thing " ... I thought " HEY that was an ANGEL head !!!! "

so

I turned around on this dangerous road > and I got the head .

Don't worry ... I went and asked if it belonged to the cemetery that was nearby . They said no and that I could keep the head

so .... it's not always a plastic bag on the side of the road !!! keep looking !

Today was so beautiful ... I took the baby heads outside

so ... I say to myself , " Just one more drawing and you must go to bed ! "

almost vintage

I am almost vintage ....

I am going through my art , and I found this tea tray that I painted years ago .

I used to have my work in many gift shops . SO many of the shops have closed .

it makes me sad that they closed .

so this is my vintage Tuesday item

I'm SO confused

I have all these drawings.... in drawers, in suitcases , in boxes under the bed , in the kitchen , in piles ..... everywhere .

and I can't decide sometimes

Should I make this one into a wood cut out for the wall ?

should I sell it as a print ?

as a greeting card ?

as a pillow ?

I overwhelm myself

My head hurts

over thirty years of drawings ....everywhere

my poor husband .

what should I do ?
