paper doll 13 inches tall

Tonight after I finished my work
I decided to make a paper doll.

I painted a pattern on wet watercolor paper,
and then I printed the pattern onto a book page .
made a dress.
The funny thing about the dress ...
When I was done I realized it reminded me of the dresses my mother sewed .
she made us mother / daughter dresses
that was probably in 1960.

I wonder if you remember that ?
mother /daughter dresses

so ... It's 1 a.m. and I am done for the day.

hope you had a great weekend
and ....
have a good MONDAY !!!!!!

Oooo! She. Is. Wonderful! I love this doll. The dress process sounds great. I'll have to try that. After you got the pattern on the book page did you end up backing the book page with something stiffer - or is the book page stiff enough? And what paper did you use for her head and appendages?

I think I missed the mother/daughter dress thing by a few years. I've heard about them, but never experienced it. MY daughters would tell me they were
scarred for LIFE if I'd done that to them.

Love this doll and love YOU, you're a doll!

thank you Theresa!

I remember I was five years old when my mother made the mother/daughter dresses . so ... I didn't feel stupid because I was only five .

Denise ... I did glue the dress to light cardboard [ used the modge podge stuff ] and painted the face etc on the same cardboard .

and guess what .... my mother used to ALWAYS say
' you're a doll '

so that was so nice to read !

oh I miiss her very much sometimes

thank you both for your comments !!!

Gorgeous doll Sandy. You are putting your hands to good use whilst waiting for the results. I love her dress. I know what you mean about mother and daughter dresses. I grew up in the 60s too. Wait until we tell people we were born in the last century...lol.

Oh wow Sandy, now you need to start designing fabric! Can you add that to everything else you have going on?

Love the dolls. Yes, I do remember Mother, Daughter dresses. I remember them in the Sears Catalog and in church. The last thing my daughter would ever want to do is look like her mother!! Horrors!
